Human rights

This week to mark international Human Rights Day we were learning all about human rights and the universal declaration of human rights. We learned about some of the different rights we all have as people and how still today some people are still being denied their basic human rights.
 Here is a picture of
us depicting the human right " Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him"

Weaving

We started weaving our own dream catchers in class. They take a lot of time but they are coming along nicely. We are getting much better at weaving. It's very relaxing and enjoyable.

Hallelujah Concert

On the 2nd of December we went to city west with 6th class to the Hallelujah concert. It was a great night and we got to see Ireland's biggest boy and at the moment "Hometown". They were very good! It was a really enjoyable night and it was worth all the time and effort we have put in over the last month learning the songs and dance moves. We also performed some songs at assembly which everyone really enjoyed.

Making butter

We learned all about food and farming in the past in history. Then we learned about how butter was made in the past using butter churns. We then did an experiment in class to watch the physical change from cream to butter. It took a long time but we used a marble to help speed up the process.

Here are some pictures of us creating our own cubist portraits. We drew two portraits and cut them up ands tuck them together. We ended up with two peculiar looking portraits. Don't they look great!
