We had a surprise for everyone at the fashion show! We learned the dance routine for Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and performed it.We were really good at keeping it a secret from everyone else, even though it was hard sometimes! We really enjoyed learning the dance, it was great fun! Here's us doing it on the day! Enjoy!

On Friday we had our school fashion show. We had to make our outfits from recyclable materials. We went with the theme of musical zombies! We dressed up as zombies using old clothes and ripping them and putting red paint and food colouring on them.
We then made some necklaces using old cardboard and materials from re-create. We drew musical notes and cut them out and designed them! Have a look!Don't we look really scary!

It's almost time for Halloween!!! We are really excited to show you what we have been working on for the past few weeks for our Green Fashion show in school, but that will have to wait! This week we have been learning lots about the history of Halloween and lots of new Irish words about Hallowen. We wrote our own essays in Irish using the new words we learned. Have a look at them! Bain taitneamh as! Tá siad go h-iontach ar fad!
We learned all about the painter Georges Seurat last week. He painted pictures using only dots that joined together. This is a painting style we call Pointillism. We then created our own pointillism paintings by responding to a poem about Autumn. We created images of Autumn in our minds and then painted these thoughts onto paper using cotton buds. Here is what we created, aren't they lovely!

Here are some pictures of us presenting our projects on the Famine. We used the computrers in school and books from at home and the library to research different topics about the Famine in groups. Then we taught the rest of the class about what we learned. We learnt a lot about the Famine, the workhouses, the landlords, the potato blight, emigration and the people at the time. It was really interesting but also sad to learn that such an awful thing happened and is still happening in some countries today.
Here are some pictures from the day we made Pizza in Science! We watched as the dough rose due to the yeast base we made together. We also really enjoyed eating them! They were yummy!!!
