Science

We learned about different sounds and properties of sound in science. We made an xylophone out of water bottles and we made a telephone out of cups and musical pipes out of straws. Another day we learned about solids liquids and gases and how different materials are soluble or insoluble. We tested different things to see if the formed a solution or a suspension.

School tour

We went to Celtic adventures on our school tour. We had a great day - we did archery, orienteering, sledding and loads of other games outside. It was a lovely sunny day and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Weight.

We were learning all about weight and balancing different weights. We estimated what different things would weigh and then we found out what they actually weighed. We then used a balance and different items to measure sugar.

Sports day

We had sports day last week. Here are a few pictures. We had a great day!

Maths capacity

We are learning about capacity in maths. Here we are estimating and measuring the capacity of different containers.

Cycle safety.

We did six weeks of cycle safety with Don. We learned how to cycle to school safely and it was really enjoyable.

Boom balms

Boom balms

For our mini business we made lip balms with 4th and 6th class. Our class made poppinpassionfruit flavour, 6th made blastin bubblegum and 4th made super strawberry. 4th and 6th class made some you tube videos to advertise and we set up a snapchat and Instagram account to market the product. Find us on Instagram - boombalm123. Here we have pictures of our product and us making and designing them. We will be selling them on Friday 1st of May and we hope to make a profit.

Field trip to famine arboretum in corkagh park.

We went on a field trip to corkagh park to visit the famine arboretum in corkagh park. It is a great place to visit and we are so lucky to have it close by. We even met some people who work in corkagh park who were planting new trees and they answered some of our questions. We looked at the national tree of Ireland which is an oak tree. Then we looked at some trees from all five continents of the world. We looked at the different shapes and types of trees they might be.
