Field trip to famine arboretum in corkagh park.

We went on a field trip to corkagh park to visit the famine arboretum in corkagh park. It is a great place to visit and we are so lucky to have it close by. We even met some people who work in corkagh park who were planting new trees and they answered some of our questions. We looked at the national tree of Ireland which is an oak tree. Then we looked at some trees from all five continents of the world. We looked at the different shapes and types of trees they might be.

Planting potatoes

We planted potatoes outside. John helped us plant them and he told us a lot about planting potatoes and how they like rough soil better. Hopefully in the summer we will have some potatoes to cook.

Planting trees

As part of a school project to raise awareness about climate change we are learning about how trees affect climate change and how planting more trees could help the environment. We decided to plant a new tree in the garden to raise awareness of the importance of planting new trees.

Planting carrots indoors

This week we have been learning all about plants, seeds and trees. We are trying to offset our carbon footprint by planting lots of vegetables and plants. Here we are planting some carrot seeds. We will transport them outside after Easter.

Uni hoc

We had great fun this week in PE learning how to play uni-hoc.
